Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
Are you ready to optimize your health and your life?
What are Bioidentical Hormones?
The term “bioidentical” means that the hormone is the exact chemical structure as the hormones your body naturally produces. These hormones start with yam or soy based ingredients that are converted to estrogen, progesterone or testosterone in the lab and the end product is the same as the estrogen, progesterone or testosterone made in your body.
This is very different from the synthetic hormones often used in women’s health. They are man-made chemicals that are created to mimic hormones but they are not the same thing.
What are Bioidentical Hormones used for?
Bioidenticals (BHRT) are used to help women transitioning in perimenopause and menopause.

What is Perimenopause?
Perimenopause is when hormones start to fluctuate which can begin as early as the late 30’s, early 40’s, 10-15 years before menopause. Symptoms may include: anxiety, irritability, mood swings, night sweats, sleep disturbance, worsening PMS symptoms, irregular and/or heavier periods, and weight gain
What is Menopause?
Menopause is a time in a woman’s life when the ovaries stop producing hormones and menstrual periods stop. The average age is 52 but it happen sooner or later. You are considered menopausal if you haven’t had a period in one year. Symptoms may include hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, fatigue, depressed mood, vaginal dryness, low libido, painful sex, poor memory, dry skin, dry eyes, irritability thin or aging skin, including wrinkles.

Are Hormones Safe?
While there are risks and benefits to everything, the benefits of hormone replacement therapy far outweigh the risks, especially for women who are within 5-10 years of menopause. Not every woman is a candidate for hormone replacement therapy so a personalized approach is critical. If you are not a good candidate for estrogen replacement, there are many other hormones including cortisol, thyroid and insulin that are important for optimal health.
